Why we exist:
We believe that the Church is a communion or fellowship of believers, characterized by mutual participation in and sharing of the new life in Christ. We seek to focus on what unites followers of Jesus Christ rather than what separates them. The center of our commitment is a clear faith in Jesus Christ.
Statement of faith:
We profess and live the Christian Faith as presented in the New Testament, affirmed by the historic church, informed by the Reformation and shaped by pietism.
Statement of purpose:
Our purpose is to glorify God, celebrate His love, lead people to salvation, bring people into a mature relationship with Christ and equip them for service.
Our mission is to love God and love people.
The vision of Shepherd of the Mountains Church is to work together under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scripture to produce fully developing disciples and a growing congregation that are passionately committed to loving God and loving people.
God commands us to worship together and calls us to be disciples and to love one another. We have a host of ministry and community opportunities in addition to Sunday worship opportunities both inside and outside the church, for all ages. You will find no judgement, no criticism here. Come as you are and serve in God's Kingdom with a non-denominational church family who puts into action the love of Christ while teaching and living Biblical principles.
The Traditional service (9:30) is filled with traditional hymns accompanied by piano and organ, liturgy, and a call to worship. Worship leaders include Shepherd Choir, Treble Choir, and various soloists.
The 11:30 offering is led by the Praise Band. The messages for both services are the same.
Our fellowship is filled with people from many different denominational backgrounds. We're a church of real life, real people, who serve a real God, while developing a real faith. Our differences and backgrounds make us unique and our common bond is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
All believers are welcome at the table. As a family, we celebrate in various different ways. Most often, we worship through the method of intinction (dipping the bread into the cup), the first Sunday of every month.
Our nursery is staffed during both Sunday services. We have Children's Church during our Contemporary Service. Wednesday evenings we have a meal for everyone, nursery and multiple classes for children through high school.
